Australian soldiers to use solar technology

Love Energy

American business website Forbes is reporting a new development in solar will allow Australian soldiers to produce their own power by wearing solar cells.

The new technology, developed by the Australian National University in conjunction with the Australian Defence Department, is called SILVER Cell and will incorporate paper-thin solar cells onto the vests of soldiers.

It will supply power directly to their electrical devices, cutting the need for rechargable batteries which can be heavy and have differing levels of endurance and reliability.

It is seen as a significant advancement which will reportedly allow soldiers to improve awareness and productivity, especially in close combat settings.

Love Energy is extremely excited by the advancements in solar technology, and looks forward to more ways in which renewable energy can improve the lives of Australians.
