CSIRO solar printing project launching

US green energy website Earth Techling is reporting that Australia is working hard to bring thin-film solar production to the market.
This new technology, patented by the CSIRO, reportedly has the potential to make solar more cost efficient and more effective for large volume areas.
Thin-film solar cells are based on inks made from semiconducting nanocrystals, and could be printed in much the same fashion that money is.
The end product would be physically smaller, lightweight and more flexible than today's current solar photovoltaic panels.
Earth Techling reports the CSIRO is launching 'Printing solar cells – A manufacturing proposition for Australia', a $7.2 million project aimed at getting thin-film solar into the Australian market.
Love Energy is excited about the new technologies being developed in the solar field, and looks forward to being a key part of its future in Australia.
