Investec investigate WA solar power station

Love Energy

The Australian newspaper is reporting South African company Investec is planning to build a 50 megawatt solar power plant outside of Geraldton, West Australia.

If the proposal is given the green light, the $200 million project would be the largest in Australia outside of the Federal Government's Solar Flagships program.

Investec is looking to make a decision on the matter early next year, with a goal to completing the Chapman Solar Power Station close to 2014.

The Solar Flagships program has seen the Federal Government committ $1.5 billion to build four solar power stations across Australia.

Love Energy is excited by the progress of large scale solar in Australia.

It's great that the Federal Government have shown the way in promoting large scale solar, here's hoping we might see a few more companies following their lead.
