New data shows solar boom in NSW

New data released has shown last year's solar bonus scheme was extremely successful in New South Wales, with up to 14% of households installing a rooftop solar system in some suburbs.

Ausgrid energy efficiency specialist Paul Myers said installations had boomed from 2,000 to 46,000 over 18 months, with areas on the state's North coast being amongst the biggest consumers.

Customers currently receive either a 60cent or 20cent feed-in tariff that is guaranteed until 2016, however a recent article has called into question the future of the state's feed-in tariffs for new customers.
