Sun still shines on Australia's last solar factory

Love Energy

The ABC today reported that Australia's last solar panel manufacturer Silex Solar would close its West Sydney factory, however in a new development this story has found to be incorrect.

The International Business Times has published an update stating there was an error of communication in the initial story, and Silex will continue to operate out of Sydney, but with a restructure of the business.

Silex will still manufacture the panels at its Sydney plant, however the cells will now be imported from overseas, costing 30 local jobs.

Love Energy uses only top quality German and Japanese panels, which are tailored to systems that will suit your home's specific needs.

For more information, read the International Business Times' coverage on the correction or The Australian's full story.

What a shame! It's never good to see Australian jobs going offshore, but it's positive that Silex will still assemble the panels here. Thanks for keeping us updated on the latest developments.
