Western Australia unlikely to meet renewable target

Love Energy

Climate Spectator is reporting the Western Australian Government has admitted it may not reach its renewable energy target of 20% by 2020.

WA Energy Minister Peter Collier revealed state-owned utility Synergy, which accounts for 80% of the market, will be buying 450 megawatts of renewable energy by 2020.

While this is positive it will still only account for approximately 12% of Synergy's total power, and leave the state unlikey to reach its target.

Western Australia's solar feed-in tariff was suspended on August 1 this year after the state's installation quota of 150 megawatts was reached.

Love Energy would like to remind Perth there are still significant savings to be made on solar in WA, and we can supply you with a top quality solar power system to cut your power bills and meet your home's specific needs.
