Solar's power yet to peak

Love Energy

Despite solar feed-in tariffs reducing at the end of September, The Advertiser has reminded Adelaide home owners that they should not rush into buying a rooftop solar system.

In an article featuring insights from Love Energy Managing Director Richard Mintz, it reinforces that solar will continue to be extremely valuable in South Australia irrespective of the change to rebates.

It reports that with the combination of rising electricity prices and falling solar system prices, having a rooftop solar system will continue to offer excellent savings for Adelaide residents past September 30.

"Predictions are that if the carbon tax comes into effect, power bills will double within the next four years," explains Richard Mintz.

"We are fast moving to the stage where it is cheaper to produce power from your own solar system than to buy from the grid."

Feed-in tariffs in South Australia will reduce from 44c/kWh to 16c/kWh on September 30 for excess electricity fed back into the grid.
