Solar's value still shines in WA

Love Energy

The ABC is reporting Western Australian Energy Minister Peter Collier has said installing solar in Perth is still extremely beneficial, regardless of the state axing feed-in tariffs.

In response to comments made by the National Electrical and Communications Association, which called on State and Federal Governments to do more to support solar PV in Australia, Mr Collier said it was absolute nonsense to think that it's not worth putting solar on your roof.

"I think what happened after we suspended the feed-in tariff - there was a bit of a knee-jerk reaction (by) some members of the solar industry and you know a bit of antagonism and I could understand that to a degree," he said.

"But at the same time it was sending the wrong message to the community that in fact it wasn't worth putting solar PVs on your roof anymore, now that's just absolute nonsense."

Western Australian feed-in tariffs were suspended on August 1 of this year after the state reached its installation quota.

Love Energy supports the message that in our time of rising electricity prices there are still excellent savings to be made for your home by installing a quality rooftop solar system.

There is only 15 days left to make the most of South Australia's 44c/kWh feed-in tariff before it drops to 16c/kWh on October 1, so there is no time to waste if you've been considering solar in Adelaide.
