Victoria will cut feed-in tariffs by 58%

Love Energy

The Victorian Government has announced it will cut solar feed-in tarifs by over 58% from the end of September.

Houses with rooftop solar systems in Victoria currently receive $0.60 for every kilowatt hour of excess electricity they feed back into the grid, however from September 30 this will be cut to 25c/kWh for new installations.

This 25c/kWh feed-in tariff will be locked in for five years for those who sign up for it, however the rate will only be a transitional arrangement while a review is conducted by the Victorian Competition and Efficiency Commission.

Victoria has followed the lead of South Australia, Western Australia, New South Wales and the ACT who have all recently announced feed-in tariff changes as they approach their state solar caps.

South Australia's solar feed-in tariff will reduce from 44c/kWh to 16c/kWh on September 30, so if you've been considering solar in Adelaide you must contact Love Energy now to receive the best possible rebates.
