Australian electricity prices could double

Love Energy

Business Spectator reports electricity prices in Australia could continue to rise over the next six years, despite the Australian Energy Regulator last week committing to slash power bills for consumers.

Electricity prices have already risen 35% over the last four years, and Edwin O'Young of Port Jackson Partners has said they could be set to double by the year 2017.

Amongst other issues he cited increasing coal prices, increasing gas prices, and the proposed Carbon Tax as factors that could drive the wholesale electricity price in Australia upwards.

Love Energy reported only last week that Adelaide electricity prices will rise a further 8% in October, after already increasing 75% since 2002.

Regardless of the Government incentives and feed-in tariffs that are available, quality solar power systems like those from Love Energy are the best way to reduce your current power bill and future-proof your family against further electricity price rises.
