Carbon Tax gets green light

The International Business Times reports the Clean Energy Future package was passed through the Australian House of Representatives in Canberra yesterday by 74 votes to 72.
The Australian Solar Energy Society has applauded the win, saying it will show a clear way forward for Australian industry, commerce and community.
AuSES Chairman John Giles also said yesterday's result will help Australia transition to a sustainable, low carbon economy.
The main part of the Clean Energy Future package is the Carbon Tax, which will impose a fee on Australia's biggest polluters in accordance with how much Carbon they produce.
The Australian Youth Climate Change Committee notes that of the money raised from this, $10 billion will go towards loans and start-up funding for clean energy projects all around Australia.
The tax however is expected to increase electricity prices around Australia; the Western Australian Government has already warned of a 5% rise while the Queensland Opposition is forecasting a 22% rise.
Solar remains one of the best ways to reduce your electricity bills and future proof your family against rising electricity prices, call Love Energy today to find out how a quality solar power system could start saving you money.
