Flinders Ranges will get greener

Love Energy

The Flinders Times reports the Flinders Ranges in South Australia is set to receive almost $1 million to spend on solar initiatives.

The money will go towards solar power systems at ten locations across the region, including 84 solar lights to be installed at local playgrounds, monuments and sporting facilities throughout Quorn, Hawker, Orroroo and Carrieton.

The grant comes as part of the Federal Government's first round of Regional Development Australia Funding.

Simon Crean, the Federal Minister for Regional Australia, said the grant would allow the community to reduce its carbon footprint and enhance tourism infrastructure.

With completion scheduled for 2013, the funding will also create jobs throughout both the construction and sustainability of the project.

Love Energy has been extremely encouraged with the regional support of solar that has emerged this week, with previous stories on solar progress in both Kangaroo Island and Port Augusta.

As well as servicing metropolitan areas, Love Energy also installs residential and commercial systems in country regions; so call Love Energy today to hear how a quality solar power system could improve your home or business.
